Argentine Tango - Milonga Style for Intermediate Students
| Milonga is a fun and playful dance that started the Tango. It is a mixture of dances such as Candombe (Uruguay), Havanera, and African dances.
Milonga began as a folk dance and developed into a style of Tango that is characterized by quick footwork and accented pauses. Milonga is also a term for a place or an event where Tango is danced. Milonga uses the same basic elements as Tango and requires a greater relaxation of legs and body. Movement is normally faster and pauses are not made. It is rather a kind of rhythmic walking without complicated figures with a much more "rustic" style than Tango.
In this course you will learn the basic steps of milonga, musicality, timing, characteristics of the dance, disassociation of lower and upper body as well as new movements and concepts. This class is intended for those students who have completed Tango Level 1 or pass an assessment. |

| Argentine tango has been thrilling dancers for more than 100 years. Tango is loved by dancers and audiences for its beauty, passion, drama and excitement. The essence of Argentine tango is about life and, especially, about the relationship between a man and a woman. This 9-week course is intended for absolute beginners and will focus on the fundamentals of lead and follow technique, the Tango walk, close embrace, musicality and etiquette. Learn simple floor patterns that you will be able to use in a milonga (tango social). |

| This class is intended for dancers who have completed a minimum of Argentine Tango I and have a strong understanding of the fundamentals of Argentine Tango (lead & follow, Tango walk, close embrace, musicality and simple floor patterns such as Basic Salida in 6, Basic Salida in 8, forward and backwards ochos and sandwich). Tango Level II will focus on disassociation, musicality, cross walk, parallel walk, sacadas (take offs), giros (turns), ganchos (hooks), and other figures. This course will add grace and seduction to your dance. |

Bachata - All Levels
| Bachata is a four-beat dance originating from the Dominican Republic. It is characterized by fluid walking hip action and a hip accent. It can be danced from both the open and close hand holds, with emphasis on developing a solid connection with your partner. This class will cover basics, body movement, turn patterns, musicality, styling and shines. You will learn how to lead and follow effectively using body movement while incorporating Bachata's sensual movements. Belly Dance Beginners 2
| Laura teaches the Arabesque method. Beginner II is where the foundation of Egyptian technique is introduced. There is a greater awareness of how amazing the abdominal muscles can be and how mastery over them can change the look and integrity of all previously learned steps by the student. A new grouping of steps is introduced at this level, but what must be mastered before moving on is the vertical drop technique and how it can be applied to many movements. By learning even more steps with slightly more difficulty and discovering a deeper understanding of what abdominal muscles are capable of, the student should now be able to really execute every movement including shimmies with ease and fluidity. If the student is having difficulty with any of the Beginner steps, the student should not continue to Intermediate. | Toronto Dance Salsa is excited to introduce a new specialty class just for the ladies! D.I.V.A.S (Dance, Inspiration, Vision, Attitude and Style) is a program designed to help you
become a better follower, improve your styling, and have your dance
partners love dancing with you. The D.I.V.A.S program is also the only
one of its kind to give you a report card on your progress, what your
strengths are, and where there is room for improvement. Over a 9 week
period you'll learn all the elements you need to become a better
dancer and tap into your inner Salsera Diva. Some of the areas that we'll

Tango Up Your Salsa Workshop

Timing and Musicality Workshop
| The real secret to becoming a better dancing lies in great timing and musicality. Learn the fundamentals of how to find the "1" in Salsa music and to stay on time. Also learn how to interpret the flow and energy of salsa music through body movement and turn patterns. Students will be taught how to differentiate between the different instruments in a salsa song and how to choose movements based on instruments' melodies and patterns in a salsa song. Toronto Dance Salsa provides classes in multiple
locations across the Greater Toronto Area for our student's convenience.
All our locations are situated next to a subway station (except for the Richmond Hill Location) and have
convenient parking available.
The main Toronto Dance Salsa Studio opened
its doors on June 1st, 2008. The gorgeous new studio is located
in the heart of North York on Yonge Street between Finch and Sheppard
on top of the North York Civic Centre Subway. Parking is free for
2hrs for students in the undergrund parking. The studio is 1600
square feet, very large and airy with lots of amentities close by.
Cardio-Go King West Club is located at King Street West and Duncan (between Simcoe and John) in the heart of downtown Toronto. There is an abundance of street metered parking and parking lots located around the club as well as PATH access and is a couple of minutes walk from the St. Andrew's Subway Station at King and University.
**Important note: The entrance to Cardio-Go King West Club is located directly on the corner of King Street West and Duncan, just to the left (west) of the Golf Town entrance. The club is located downstairs and all Toronto Dance Salsa classes take place in the studio.
Venice Fitness Club is located in the King
West district between Peter Street and Spadina Avenue in the heart
of downtown Toronto.
**IMPORTANT NOTE** To get to the Venice Fitness Studio, enter the double glass doors where there is a sign with the numbers "393". Immediately to your right you will see double black doors. Enter these doors and go up the stairs until you reach the next black door which is the entrance for the gym. The studio is at the end of the hall.
