Hi guys ... I was approached by some other dancers and we started talking about things that concern dancing in crowded areas. When you take a partner to the dance floor, you want to find a spot where you both can enjoy your dancing together as a couple. Sometimes, the dance floor can get really busy, so find a spot and ( in a soft sense ) claim it as your own. Men, you control the space you are dancing in. We have a lot of responsibility with our beautiful dancing ladies at our sides...so take care of them. Always keep an eye out for others and to always respect everyone else that are dancing near you. Things happen..so if you bump into someone else or they bump into you or your partner...be the bigger person and say "sorry" or "are you ok". Guys,, even if your partner is the one that bumps into others...be a gentleman and apologize for both of you. Remember what I said, it is our resposibility on that dance floor!!!

Followers need to really follow their leads. If the leader gives a short lead, don't stride into the the next area code and knock over other dancers. You're not in the studio with all that room any more.

Watch over your leader's shoulder and pull him short if it looks like another couple is going to run him down. We really really appreciate it.

Think of salsa as the original table dance that can do everything within a three by three or four by four foot space.

Have some fun dancing close and you might just learn a little something about your partner.

Well said....guys, a lady will be a better follower when she feels like she's being taken care of on the dance floor. Aside from good timing, a follower appreciates, above fancy moves and styling, a clean and considerate lead where she's not being cross body-checked into every other couple on the dance floor!

Ladies, please watch where you're stepping with those gorgeous dance shoes! If you want to style and take bigger strides, then gently coax your partner into a bigger space on the dance floor (if there is any). Sometimes you can't help stepping on a fellow dancer, but we can all be a bit pro-active in trying to prevent inflicting spike heel injuries on our fellow salseras!
