For those of you who watch So You Think You Can Dance....how about a Paso Doble choreography class? How cool would it be to execute a Paso Doble choreography? Olé!

A breakdance class would be fun for sure... or how about some salsa acrobatics!

Hey guys,
wondering if we will have a Hip Hop or Cha Cha class any time soon. I am definitely interested in learning some of the other kinds of body isolations that these two very different types of dances have to offer!
Do we have plans for having other specialty classes in the future? I know Velina likes the Paso Doble.

it's cha cha CHA, not cha cha. I hope you don't forget the last CHA when you are dancing.

Flamenco is a very emotional dance, however what a flamenco dancer (and flamenco music as well) expresses most of the time is neither joy nor happiness.
It's rather passion and drama, pain and tragedy, expressed in a very intense manner with pride but also with grace.

So...have a good time in Barcelona, and let us know your impressions from that flamenco show.

What about a Cuban salsa class or Casino?

Here is the earliest (perhaps) instance of casino dancing.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtX04FNpwbE

This clip was recorded in 1938. You can see the "mambo" step and the cross body lead, therefore they were NOT invented in New York or in Ballroom dancing.

A lot of closed minded salsseros in Toronto didn't want to go to the Pupy concert, because they thought Cuban style dancing is old. This is modern casino dancing.

What could be more modern than that?

What about a Cuban rumba class?

The rumba that you guys know is not the correct name. The Rumba you guys know is actually a son-bolero, but when they tried to sell the music and dance outside Cuba, they thought RUMBA would be a more commercial name than SON. So, the incorrect name stuck, and also Cha Cha Cha became Cha Cha.

Here is the authentic Cuban rumba
