Please feel free to post your Helpers related quesitons in this area.

Any dance or class material you would like clarification on?
Dance tips and advice?
Dance etiquette?
How to politely get out of an awkward dance situation?
What does it take to be a helper?

AND anything else you feel we can help you with. If we do not have an answer for you, we will surely direct you to someone who do!

Hola assistentes,

Simple question, how does one become a helper and how did you get into it?

Gracias

Sharon is the person to speak to regarding becoming a helper...

I think these are some of the qualities that you'll need in order to become a helper:

- a love for salsa
- positive attitude
- fun personality
- social skills
- level of dance skills
- dedication and commitment, even though this is on a volunteer basis, but you have responsibilities to a class as a helper, and your presence in the class is accounted for

Maybe Sharon can add something more to the list! Very Happy

Great question!

To become a helper you would have had to complete level 3 or receive permission. You need to have a great personality, be very confident and comfortable with your dancing to the point where you can help others, be reliable and available for 9 week sets, be articulate and get along with others well. Everything that KT says goes too!

There are people from other schools who want to be helpers but I always choose the helpers who are in Toronto Dance Salsa because it is such a unique school and I want them to have experienced being a student in this environment.

If you feel you are the right candidate, don't be afraid to let me know!
