Want to become a dance performer and learn a great dance form? But, do not have any formal training in dance. Need not to worry; being a beginner is not a constraint any more. In fact, the initial stage of learning is the best part as it makes the base for future dance styles. If you are planning to learn a good Latin dance then nothing is better than salsa. Salsa Dance Lesson NYC has all that a learner requires good dance studios, well-trained instructors and reasonable fees. Lessons in salsa dance comprise of basic steps extending to complex steps. Basic steps are imparted to the newcomers or beginners and the complex steps for the next levels.

Salsa is a dance form that originated in Cuba and later spread to Caribbean islands and Puerto Rico. This dance is considered to be a partner dance, however, solo dancing and line dancing is also popular. This dance form became very popular in Latin America and United States. It later on moved to other countries like Japan, France, Italy, Spain, Eastern Europe and Portugal. It is also counted in the category of Latin dances apart from lambada and cha-cha-cha. There are many salsa styles like Cuban salsa, Miami style salsa, Cali salsa style, New York style and Los Angeles salsa.

In America, there are two versions of salsa that are taught at most dance academies. One, the Los Angeles style (salsa on 1) and New York style (salsa on 2). Salsa on 2 managed to make a place for itself during the 1950s and 60s, at a time when salsa on 1 and Cumbia ruled the dance floors. Nowadays, NYC mainly teaches the salsa on 2 dance, which is danced on fast music.

Learning any form of salsa is fun and enjoyable. Once, you cross the initial level you will want to enroll for the higher learning.
