In response to Sharon's blog, I thought i'd start a discussion on here with regards to new locations for classes. Does anyone know of a gym or studio that has a great OPEN space that's walking distance to a subway stop?

I do have a couple of suggestions. There's an extreme fitness on Eglinton two blocks east of Yonge. Across from extreme is the York club. Also at Yonge and St-Clair is my gym, Goodlife. Happy hunting!

Yep finding studio space is really tough and Northridge is going through renovations next semester so we are looking for a place to move our classes to around the Yonge & Finch or Yonge & Sheppard location. We have tried Extreme and Goodlife so if you have any other suggestions I would GREATLY appreciate it!!!

Would the Loblaws' Community Room at Empress Walk be big enough? I've passed by and seen other salsa classes held there. The link from their Upstairs at Loblaws What's Cooking in Your Community (http://www.loblaws.ca/en/thisWeeksFlyer.aspx?pubClass=3) says that the room can be rented and to contact the coordinator.

Would you consider Earl Haig school? Mambo Tribe used to have classes there but not anymore.

I actually like Tula Yoga Studio as well for a downtown location. Big open space with lots of mirrors. There's also a goodlife fitness in liberty village that just opened. There's free parking!

Thanks everyone for all of your suggestions. Some I have already approached and don't work, other don't work because of location. I would like to stick to the Yonge Street subway station as opposed to the other line.

For now we have introduced Eclipse Fitness at Yonge & Eglinton, Let's Get Started Dance Studio at Leslie and 16th and Toronto Athletic Club at Bay & Wellington so I am covered in every area that I wanted to expand to except for Yonge & Finch/Sheppard. If anyone knows of a space in that area I would love to hear about it!
