Someone suggested we use this section to provide feedback to the competitors so they can improve for the finals round. Without naming any specific couple - can anyone provide some good and constructive feedback for the group?

Overall I thought the energy level, enthusiasm and personality really shone for every competitor - this was truly the strong areas for most.

Some things to watch:

1) Timing, timing, timing. I will always say that timing is crucial - it is worth 20% and is the foundation of the dance. Without it many other areas of juding criteria will suffer.
2) Facing the audience - remember to choreograph with your body and expressions angles towards the audience. So if, for example, you are doing a pop or an in & out, the woman should be facing the audience
3) No singing to the song, counting aloud or talking to each other - this is a big one!
4) Choose a high energy song that is not too fast for you to handle

These are just some suggestions - anyone have anything else?

I agree with what Sharon suggested. Another thing to add is to "feel the music". I guess it goes for everyone else. Not to just dance to the 1,2,3... 5, 6, 7 count, but feeling the rise and fall of the beats, how fast the beats are and making all the moves and turn patterns flow as smooth as possible. That's my 2 cents for now. ^_^

All of the above plus SMILING. Dont forget to smile!!!

Pay attention where are you facing to during the dips and tricks!
Feel the misic-dance to the music, especially when you do shines and styling.
Think of you body as an instrument that is part of the orquestra playing that song...

I know I am repeating what Sharon and Anthony already said but just to want to emphasize the point as it is the most common weak area.

You are all wonderful, good luck!
